Ever met someone who finds joy in helping others transfer financial uncertainty to an insurance policy? Meet one now. Tim Chadwick. The slightly leftfield insurance nutter.
Seriously though, I am an unshakeable optimist about human potential and professional risk advice. I fell into insurance by chance. If you had told me as a 19 year old that I would one day run a boutique insurance practice, I would have laughed.
My path became clear during the years I spent at insurance companies like Commercial Union learning how claims get paid, delayed or denied and built my brokerage doing the opposite of what frustrated me.
I started Chadwicks as a boutique risk advisory practice in 2003. “Boutique” is not a euphemism for small, it means a proper risk advisor who knows your unique risk and treats you as an individual, not a call centre or a fancy office with a big marketing budget. It means clients must be treated like people, not policy numbers. And relationships always trump transactions. I call this insurance clarity, with care.
Cognitive closure only gives you a dopamine hit and a rejected claim.
I am an eternal student of risk psychology. In twenty plus years, I have seen the same patterns. Optimism bias, groupthink, the hope that bad things only happen to other people. Proven psychology says the need for cognitive closure means the brain rewards resolving a question, not answering it correctly, which is why a fast yes and few questions can feel like proper cover. Until the claim. That is why I ask more questions upfront, not fewer. Most avoid friction. I encourage it.
There is magic in helping someone make the right insurance decision. Understand the risk exposure first. Design the solution second. Pay the premium last. That is why I called the business Chadwicks Risk & Insurance. Risk First. Insurance Second.™
Being part of Chadwicks is a privilege I will never stop being thankful for. Twenty plus years later, I have no regrets. My story is not finished. And frankly, neither am I, though the plans we make are seldom the ones life has in mind. When all is said and done, our purpose is humans and honour first. With a U. I am a Saffer.
My pastimes include photography, music, travel. I am a big Bok and Rassie supporter, usually found in the kitchen at parties with my soul mate, a glass of red wine and Peanut, my black cat.

I help people with insurance. This is what I love doing and for me, there is no better place than Chadwicks to do this.
I am the Director of Advisory & Operations at Chadwicks.
I enjoy analysing risk and assisting people with their insurances. Another big plus, is supporting people in our team and watching them grow. I find this very rewarding.
Family history, scrapbooking and my grandchildren. This is how I spend my time outside work.

I am in Client Care at Chadwicks. I studied BCom (Management Sciences) at Stellenbosch University.
A key goal I have is to help clients understand their insurance cover, so they can make good risk and insurance decisions.
I am fortunate to work in a tight knit team, where care is defined by competence and a caring, proactive approach. By having a deep understanding of a client’s risk profile, we consistently show them insurance “clarity, with care.”
Outside of work, I am usually at the beach or watching a movie with my loved ones.

I am a qualified Risk Advisor at Chadwicks. We focus on private client risk solutions cover and business insurance.
I studied BCom in Management Sciences, specializing in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Stellenbosch University. My background is in entrepreneurship and industrial psychology. One taught me how businesses work, the other taught me how people think. Risk can be found in both disciplines.
Beyond advisory, I look after Chadwicks digital presence. If you enjoy the site you are on now, I helped develop it and play an active role in its continuous development. This is done in house.
My faith grounds everything. How I treat people and how I approach my work.
Outside of work I am on mountain trails with a GoPro or at the piano or around a fire with the people who count. My fiancé. Family. Close friends. This is where real life is for me.

I am employed in Claim Care at Chadwicks and have worked in the insurance industry for over ten years now.
I hold a Higher Certificate in Short Term Insurance.
When a client phones me it usually because something has gone wrong, mostly an accident. I always try to stay calm and help sort things out for our clients, as professionally as possible. Take their stress away.
I am passionate about claims. I see the person not the claim number. At the end of the day, I am helping someone, which I find very satisfying.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy meeting new people.

I am a non life insurance professional with over nine years of experience in claims.
I am in Claim Care at Chadwicks and completed a BCom (Marketing Management) at Varsity College.
Throughout my career I have developed strong skills in claims assessment, policy interpretation, risk analysis and process improvement.
What initially attracted me to Chadwicks was the job advertisement itself. The emphasis on character, integrity, ownership, clear communication and authentically caring about clients resonated deeply with me. I believe insurance is ultimately about helping people during difficult and often stressful situations.
I am naturally curious, love learning new things and enjoy finding ways to improve processes. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, discovering great coffee spots, exploring the outdoors and making lasting memories with my husband and son.

I recently completed my BA Honours in Anthropology at Stellenbosch University, majoring in Anthropology and Psychology.
When a graduate opening was advertised by Chadwicks going on about insurance “clarity with care”, I was curious. I had always viewed insurance as anything but clarity with care and rather as people trying to take your money based on fear.
However, after coming in for the interview and now working here, I have seen with my own eyes that ‘clarity with care’ is exactly what Chadwicks the brand stands for, as well as what the team lives by.
As an entrant into the industry, I can see how “Cut risk. Not Corners” could be the most important factor in ensuring that you are covered correctly. Now I am learning precisely how Chadwicks ensures that every customer is getting covered correctly.
In my spare time, I enjoy exploring the Cape’s coastline with a snorkel or finding new trails up the mountains. I also love watching the Boks and rugby in general, but you will not find me eating fatty boerewors.
